Q: What types of Members are there?
A: There are 2 types of member, Registered Member or Full Member

Full Membership entitles you to access all areas of the website. You will be entitled to an email forwarder or a webmail email box of your choice.
See the relevant section in the FAQ,s

Q: What does it Cost?
A: Registered Membership is FREE which has limited access to the website and Full Membership is a donation of 30 Euros for 3 years which has access to all areas of the website.

Q: What Email Address can I have?
A: As a Full Member you can have any email address that has a cagivaelefant.com suffix. For example if your name was Joe Bloggs you could have the email address as <JoeBloggs>@cagivaelefant.com. This can be either an email forwarding address or a webmail box. The email address a have to be unique so if your chaoice is already taken then you will need to choose somthing else.

Q: What is an Email Forwarder?
A: Email forwarding involves passing email along from one address to another. It can also be used to pass groups of messages such as listservs. Email forwarding services automatically forward all mail received at one of your addresses to another address. This can be handy if you have a web based email alias but would rather not have to surf to the website each day to check your mail. Using a forwarding service, the mail received at the website would automatically be passed to your main email address (or another address of your choice). This allows you the convenience of utilizing multiple email addresses while keeping your main email address private, and still collecting all of your mail in one place.

Q: What is Webmail?
A: Webmail (or Web-based e-mail) is an e-mail service intended to be primarily accessed via a web browser, as opposed to through a desktop e-mail client (such as Microsoft Outlook, Pegasus Mail, Mozilla's Thunderbird, or Apple Inc.'s Mail). Very popular webmail providers include Gmail, Yahoo! Mail, Hotmail, and AOL. One advantage of webmail over application-based e-mail is that a user has the ability to access their inbox from any Internet-connected computer around the world.
For your convenience the Webmail button on the top menu will take you to the provider of the wemail box.

Q: I have an Elefant that is different or special can I get help?
A: There is the intention that we we will correlate as much information as possible from our memberlist about their Elefants. This should help you with your own elefant with technical help in your language where possible. The member list has the country in which they reside, if you need to contact that member please drop us a line or contact your Region Manager on the Contacts page

Q: What is the Regional Manager's role
A: I suppose it is one of those jobs you make it what you want it to be. We expect a Regional Manager to try and answer any emails or queries from riders in that region if there are any and basically to create some regional specific website content, on the Regions pages or organise somebody else to do it. If it is a quiet region then there will not be much to do, The size and number of members in a region is not specific. At the end of the day the Regional Manager will get a say into the content of the region's particular web pages and if you are not able to write them yourself just send the webmaster the words by email and the content will be created for you. If you are able to write web pages we can create for a Region specific FTP login so that content can be directly uploaded. This is particularly helpful as the pages can be created in the language of the Region. In a nutshell I live in the UK (webmaster) and I do not know what goes on in your Region or even where to go and what to see. You could maybe organise a meeting in your area if it is convenient and that could go in your news section.
The Region might be managed by more than one member as will probably be a more realistic view with a little co-ordination.

Q: What are the principles of the club?
A: [This cannot be answered in one paragraph but some are outlined below

  • The idea of the club is to try to bring a more cohesive approach to the many Cagiva Elefant enthusiasts out there all over the world. For example there are quite a few Cagiva Elefants and enthusiastic riders  in Brazil but we (here in the UK) do not know what they get up to so we are hoping they will join in and have a region of their own.
  • The club is a platform to promote a friendly bond between Cagiva Elefant owners, past owners, aspiring owners or people with a genuine empathy for the Cagiva Elefant.
  • All members must respect the feelings of other members, all content on members pages must not be of a racial or sexist nature or bring into disrepute any or either a member or the CEC as a whole. Such web content will be removed.
