2010 European Treffen - Italian Lakes
When?
24th - 27th June 2010
Plans are now coming together and others have yet to be added , but the 10th anniversary International Treffen will take place from Thursday 24th - Sunday 27th of June.
Where?
Cannobio on the western shores of Lago Maggiore, Italy
We have made arrangements for us to stay at Camping Del Sole campsite in Cannobio. The campsite have set aside at enough space for at least 80 persons with small tents. If we need more we may be able to discuss this with the campsite owner providing you have registered. This number of 80 assumes that most people will have their own tent. Please go to the Events Register page to register what you require and when you will arrive. There are a number of static caravans with wooden cottages attached at the campsite but these are privately owned. We do however have a list of the owners and contact details of these "cottages" and we leave it to you to make your own arrangements if you are not camping. This list and some suggested websites for NON camping accommodation is below. The campsite has a big swimming pool and a good restaurant. Cannobio is within easy access to some of the best roads in Europe whilst still being warm it is close to the Swiss and French alps. We will put some suggested routes to and from the meeting on the website soon. To give you something to look at have a look at these two websites which will give you a flavour of the area and perhaps some alternate places to stay if you do not want to stay in camp.

What is happening?
The general organization of this meeting is being shared between the Italians,Germans,Dutch, Austrians,French and British with each country responsible for certain parts of the 4 day event.
As we speak, the Treffen is due to start on the Thursday followed by a "Special day" at a venue near Varese, involving the Rallye Factory Racing Prototypes from CH Racing and Cagiva. There is also hope, of some Rallye Riders being in attendance whilst the Prototypes are on show, along with some CH Racing Customer bikes from the elefant community.
Thursday, Saturday and Sunday will be the usual Treffen agenda involving ride outs and an organised event for the Saturday night etc.
The actual venue will be in Cannobio at a dedicated camp site, full details and method of booking will be posted soon.
Other than arranging the "Special day" along with evening meals at the campsite and in Cannobio, the Treffen will be fairly relaxed, but maps are being prepared to involved some "interesting" routes for you to explore should you wish.
Who?
The meeting is open to all Elefant riders and friends as normal. As this is the 10th meeting please make that special effort to come the Treffen and make it a memorable occaision.

What's There?
Cannobio is situated on the top half of the western side of Lago Maggiore. It is at the foot of some of Europe's great mountain roads. There will be some maps available suggesting day rides. We suggest that you plan your arrival journey in such a direction that you can enjoy some of these roads on the way to the event. If possible to return home by a different route that way enjoying at least two areas of beauty. The lake is clear enough to swim in and should be warm in June. The village as much to offer but larger towns are not far away for those who want to shop. We suggest that you arrive at the campsite with as much fuel as possible as fuel stations are not on every corner. Fuel on Sundays is available but only at unattended fuel stations so keep some Euro's handy as most do NOT take credit or charge cards.
What do you need to DO?
Please go the Events Register and tell us you intentions. This is very important for the organisers to make arrangments in plenty of time to avoid dissappointment. The T-Shirt deadline is the end of April so please do not delay.
